Frontend Engineer

Hyderabadfull time2 openings

About the role

Frontend Engineer (React / Next.js)
Location: Hybrid — [City, Country] (3 days in-office / 2 days remote)
Employment type: Full-time
Team: Engineering / Web Platform
Reports to: Head of Engineering

About the role
We're looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to own the architecture, direction, and quality of our web platform. You'll set the technical bar for a team of frontend engineers, work closely with design, product, and backend leads, and ship interfaces used by [users/customers/scale] every day.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll spend most of your time writing and reviewing code, but you'll also shape roadmaps, mentor engineers, and make the architectural calls that compound over years — not sprints.
What you'll do

Lead architecture and technical direction for our React/Next.js web applications, including rendering strategy (SSR/SSG/ISR/RSC), data fetching, state management, and routing.
Own the frontend platform: design systems, component libraries, build tooling, CI/CD, performance budgets, observability, and developer experience.
Drive performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), and SEO as first-class engineering concerns — not afterthoughts.
Set and enforce code quality standards through technical review, RFCs, and pairing.
Mentor mid- and senior-level engineers; grow the team's depth through hiring, onboarding, and career development.
Partner with Product, Design, and Backend leads to shape requirements, scope ambitious work, and break it into shippable increments.
Lead incident response for frontend systems and drive blameless postmortems.
Advocate for the user — push back when the product direction will hurt them, and propose better paths.

What we're looking for

7+ years building production web applications, with 2+ years in a lead, staff, or principal capacity.
Deep expertise in React (hooks, concurrent features, RSC) and Next.js (App Router, middleware, caching, rendering modes).
Strong TypeScript fluency — comfortable with generics, conditional types, and modeling complex domains in the type system.
Solid grasp of web fundamentals: HTML semantics, CSS (modern layout, Tailwind or CSS-in-JS), browser performance, network internals, security (CSP, XSS, CSRF, auth flows).
Track record shipping at scale: optimizing Core Web Vitals, reducing bundle size, handling complex client state, building resilient data layers (TanStack Query, SWR, Apollo, or similar).
Experience designing and maintaining a design system or component library used by multiple teams.
Strong testing instincts — unit (Vitest/Jest), component (Testing Library), and end-to-end (Playwright/Cypress).
Excellent written and verbal communication; you can write a clear RFC, run a productive design review, and disagree without making it personal.
Experience hiring, mentoring, and giving direct, useful feedback.

Nice to have

Experience with monorepos (Turborepo, Nx, pnpm workspaces) and module federation.
Backend or full-stack experience (Node.js, GraphQL, REST API design).
Contributions to open-source frontend tooling or design systems.
Experience with edge runtimes, streaming SSR, or React Server Components in production.
Familiarity with feature flagging, experimentation platforms, and analytics pipelines.

Our stack

Frontend: React 19, Next.js 15 (App Router), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI
State & data: TanStack Query, Zustand
Testing: Vitest, Testing Library, Playwright
Tooling: pnpm, Turborepo, ESLint, Prettier, Storybook
Infra: Vercel / AWS, GitHub Actions, Datadog, Sentry
