SQL Engineer (0–3 Years Experience)
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical SQL Engineer (0–3 Years Experience) to join our data team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of SQL, database management, data analysis, and query optimization. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions, writing complex SQL queries, ensuring data integrity, and supporting business reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
Design, develop, and manage relational database solutions.
Analyze and troubleshoot database-related issues.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and validation activities.
Ensure database performance, integrity, and security.
Create and maintain database documentation.
Develop reports and dashboards using database queries.
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and QA teams.
Monitor database performance and implement optimization techniques.
Perform data validation and data quality checks.
Support ETL processes and data migration activities.
Participate in database design reviews and code reviews.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of SQL.
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Good understanding of database concepts, normalization, and indexing.
Experience writing complex SQL queries involving joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
Knowledge of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
Understanding of query optimization and performance tuning.
Familiarity with data modeling concepts.
Basic knowledge of ETL processes.
Experience with database backup and recovery concepts.
Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
0–3 years of experience in SQL Development, Database Engineering, Data Analysis, or related roles.
Fresh graduates with strong SQL projects or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
Database certifications are an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, or Informatica.
Basic knowledge of Python for data processing and automation.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
Knowledge of cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts.
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is a plus.
